Mark S. Carter — Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Carter is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Sequoia Equities, Inc. (SEI). He is a founding principal of SEI and is a principal and general partner of numerous affiliated companies and partnerships. Mr. Carter is responsible for overseeing all investment and asset management decisions for SEI and related affiliates.

Mr. Carter joined Sequoia in 1986. He became a Chief Executive Officer in 1988. Since joining the company, Mr. Carter has been involved in acquisitions (through purchase and general partner replacement), management and dispositions of more than $2 billion worth of real estate.

From 1984-1986, Mr. Carter was a Senior Acquisition Manager for Prometheus Development Partnership, Inc. where he was involved in the acquisition and disposition of more than $100 million in real estate. From 1979-1984, Mr. Carter specialized in apartment sales as a senior sales associate for Marcus & Millichap, a national commercial real estate investment brokerage firm.

Mr. Carter is a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers. Mr. Carter is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, having received B.A. in Economics in 1976.
